John Cena is not only the cover star of WWE 2K23, but will also be the playable wrestler with the highest rating in the game. How is that possible, you ask, when Roman Reigns has a rating of 99 points? What even Reigns didn’t see coming: Super Cena is also included in WWE 2K23 and he brings an unbeatable rating of 100 points to the ring.

This almost meme-like form of John Cena has appeared many times throughout his long career as a wrestler, showing up in moments of need, when Cena is in danger of being overpowered by a mighty opponent. Some examples of this sometimes controversial Super Cena transformation include his match against Brock Lesnar at Extreme Rules 2012, his “I Quit” fight against The Miz at Over The Limit 2011, and his battle against The Nexus at SummerSlam 2010.

That power will be yours to unleash in WWE 2K23, but you’ll need to unlock Super Cena first – fortunately for you, we’re here to tell you how to do that.

How to unlock Super Cena in WWE 2K23

You need to play through WWE 2K23’s Showcase Mode to unlock this invisible form of John Cena, which is going to show up once you’ve reached a certain point in the game and might throw you off at first – you’re literally going to face an invisible man wearing John Cena merch.

Don’t worry, though, as you can beat up and submit this opponent just like any other. Still, it’s definitely a big challenge to defeat Super Cena with his high rating.

Here are the steps you need to follow to obtain this strong fighter:

  1. Play Showcase Mode in WWE 2K23.
  2. Reach the chapter “Didn’t See That Coming”.
  3. Defeat Super Cena in a 1v1 match.

Once you’ve pinned Super Cena, he’s going to be unlocked for your own WWE 2K23 roster.

You can obtain additional characters for the game in other ways as well: The WWE 2K23 Season Pass contains anticipated wrestlers like Bray Wyatt and Wade Barrett.
