Clues to the Sky riddle – Zelda TOTK

The riddle you get from the end of The Broken Slate quest is as follows:

“Stand upon the land of the sky fish, and behold its lofty view. Among the floating rocks you see, a droplet waits for you.

“Through this droplet, shoot an arrow with the mark of the king. Do this task, and you shall reveal a most wondrous thing.

“See the watery bridge’s resting spot with your own two eyes…that which connects the Zora to the people of the skies.”

Jiahto recommends talking with King Dorephan, but he’s not present in Zora’s Domain. Let’s find him.

Listening to the Zora children – Zelda TOTK

Head over to the Throne Room and you’ll find several Royal Zora children reenacting recent events, which should lead to a clue as to where to find King Dorephan. Only they won’t let you listen to their little performance.

In order to eavesdrop without them noticing, run around to the back of the throne room, and climb into the thrown itself from the rear. At the front of the throne, you should be able to crouch down to listen to the children without being spotted.

King Dorephan location – Zelda TOTK

Once you listen to them, you’ll find out that King Dorephan is in the Pristine Sanctum, which is location between Ploymus Mountain and Zora’s Domain, with a secret entrance behind a waterfall. Let’s find it.

You can find King Dorephan’s Pristine Sanctum between Mikau Lake and Lulu Lake. From Mikau lake, pass through the upper waterfall, just before Lulu Lake.

If you can’t seem to find the entrance, check the left side of Lulu Lake to a waterfall leading into a chamber – that’s the Pristine Sanctum.

Getting the Mark of the King – Zelda TOTK

Once you meet with King Dorephan, he will give you five King’s Scales. You can come back to King Dorephan whenever you run out for five more scales. To shoot an arrow with the mark of the king, you simply need to attach a King’s Scale to an arrow before shooting it.

Land of the Sky Fish location – Zelda TOTK

Now we need to get to the Land of the Sky Fish, and this one is pretty simple, assuming you already have the Skyview Tower for this area. Check the sky map – there’s a structure just to the East of Shatterback Point. That is the sky fish – it’s even shaped like a fish on the map. It’s called Floating Scales Island.

Near Mipha Court you can find a bunch of materials in the corner, including a Balloon, a few Battery devices, and more. Attach a Balloon to a platform and place a burning fire underneath it – this will allow you to get high enough to Paraglide over to the sky fish.

Finding the Droplet – Zelda TOTK

The sky fish is covered in sludge, so make sure to wash a bunch of it off. Stand at the top of the sky fish, and look over the Southwest edge. If you align it right, you’ll be able to see a droplet made up of the floating pieces of ruin.

Aim your bow through the droplet and attach the King’s Scale. Shoot straight through to unlock a new cutscene.

This will cause a bright light to shine from the lake which is overlooked by Shatterback Point, completing the Clues to the Sky quest.

Talk to Prince Sidon and follow him, and you’ll soon come across the difficult Water Temple.
