Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Jonsau Shrine guide
The best shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom make full use of the game’s incredible physics system. While there are plenty of shrines about solving puzzles or engaging in combat challenges, those that teach you new things about how the game works are always a delightful treat.
Jonasu Shrine is one of these shrines, located to the east of Lookout Landing on the way to Zora’s Domain. It’s an interesting shrine that uses Ultrahand to teach you how buoyancy works in the game, and it’s a heck of a lot of fun. This guide will tell you everything you need to know to solve Jonsau Shrine.

Jonsau Shrine solution – Zelda TOTK
Upon entering Jonsau Shrine, you’ll see a large button on the roof and a ball floating in the water below it.
The solution might not be immediately clear, but it’s very fun. Pick up the ball with Ultrahand, then move it below the water, directly underneath the button.
Press B to deactivate Ultrahand, and the ball will spring up out of the water, pressing the button and opening the gate to the right.
Head through the gate and turn the corner, where you’ll find a Zonai construct to fight. It is not difficult to defeat, but it is annoying as it has a shield.
After defeating the construct, head back into the room with the ball and pick up the ball with Ultrahand. Bring it with you around the corner again, and through to the next room.
Once again, use Ultrahand to place the ball under the water below the button, then release it to hit the button.
Pick up the floating panel in the water before heading through the gate, then place it in the next room underneath the platform above.
Pick up the floating panel in the water before heading through the gate, then place it in the next room underneath the platform above.
Stand on the floating panel, then use Ascend to warp to the top of the platform. Glide down to the goal and collect your prize.
