The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has even more Shrines present than Breath of the Wild, and some of them are particularly inventive with the puzzles they present. One in particular that comes to mind is the Kiuyoyou Shrine.

This Shrine has you juggling both fire and ice in order to hold down switches and solve puzzles. It’s not long if you know what yo do, but it’s easy to get confused by it all. Just follow our instructions below for a full breakdown on how to complete Kiuyoyou Shrine – Fire and Ice in Zelda: TOTK.

As you walk in this shrine you’ll be presented with a block of ice to your left, next to a switch the block is too big to press, and flames to your right. Doesn’t take a genius to work this one out.

Pick up the ice block with Ultrahand and dip it in and out of the flames to shrink it a bit, just to make it small enough to place on the switch, holding the gate open.

Through the gate, use the upwards gusts of wind to get up to the upper level. Up here, use the stone slab to block the flames, protecting the falling ice.

Take the ice block away from the flames, and then place the stone slab on top of it and attach it. Slide this ice block down the spiky slope.

Remember the flames from the start of the Shrine? Use the slab on top of the ice block to block the flames and place it on the giant switch.

That’ll open the gate, completing Kiuyoyou Shrine.
