Finding the Stable Trotters in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a multi-part side quest that will help you unlock all of the Great Fairy locations. They are hidden across Hyrule and need a hand to return to playing music. The first player you will need to help out is Violynne, the violinist, who will allow you to open up your first Great Fairy and upgrade your armor.

Here’s everything you need to know to help out the violinist for this side quest.

Make sure to check our full list of Great Fairy locations to make these quests easier.

You will find the violinist playing outside Woodland Stable just west of Hyrule Castle. Before you can start her quest, you will need to have visited the Lucky Clover Gazette. This can be found across the broken bridge from the Rito Village in a building that looks like a stable.

Once you have spoken to the people inside, you can travel to Woodland Stable and start the quest.

The violinist will ask you to repair the cart so that she and the conductor can be taken up the hill to the Great Fairy. It’s only missing its wheels which can be found nearby at the stable and attached using the Ultrahand ability. If you speak to them again, they will get into the cart and be ready for the journey.

The harder part of this is getting the cart up the hill. With some effort this can be done in small bursts using the Ultrahand ability, but there is a far easier way. If you visit three stables, you will be given three Pony Points, which can then be handed in at the ledger of any stable in exchange for a horse harness. If you haven’t got three Pony Points yet you can find all stable locations in our guide.

Talk to the man in charge of the stable and take out a horse. Then choose to customize your horse and attach the harness.

You can then attach the harness to the handle of the wagon, and pull the musicians up to the Great Fairy bud at the top of the hill. It’s easy enough to see her as the bud emits puffs of pink smoke.

You’ll be given a few rupees for your troubles, but most importantly, you will have unlocked your first Great Fairy. This will allow you to upgrade your armor, making your quest a little bit easier.

It also allows you to complete the Serenade to Mija quest at Snowfield Stable to unlock your next Great Fairy - after you've completed the Hornist's Dramatic Escape quest, at least.
