Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Full Wind Temple walkthrough
Contents
There are four main temples to complete in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – though you just might find another – and this time we’re covering everything you need to know to complete the Wind Temple.
The Wind Temple – also known as the Stormwind Ark – is lingering high above Rito Village and is also the source of whatever is causing the brutal blizzard plaguing Rito Village. In this guide we’re breaking down where to find the five turbines into order to complete the dungeon. Just read through below for everything you need to complete the Wind Temple with Tulin in Tears of the Kingdom.

First Wind Temple windmill turbine– Zelda TOTK
Drop down onto the Stormwind Ark through the top of the blizzard and you’ll immediately get a cutscene as you land with Tulin. Use the terminal Tulin is standing next to and you’ll see a gear in the center of the ark activate. You need five more to start moving in the same way to open up the center of the ark. Luckily, they are all tagged on your map to make things a bit easier.
First, head North up the ark until you come to doors on your left and right. The left door has a switch you can open with Ultrahand, but the right switch has had the handle broken.
Mend to switch by using Ultrahand to attach something – a weapon or icicle works – and then use Ultrahand on that to move the switch. The first wind turbine is just inside here, which can be activated with Tulin's Gust ability.
Second Wind Temple windmill turbine – Zelda TOTK
Next we’re taking on the turbine resting on B2. From the first turbine, head over to the West side of the ark, and then jump off the edge. You should see an entrance inside the ark on the side.
Once in, turn to your right and look down into the hole in the floor.
Jump off and Paraglide down slowly – as soon as possible, glide over to the platform on your left. You’ll find the B2 turbine here.
Third Wind Temple windmill turbine – Zelda TOTK
You need to enter B1 again, this time from the Southeast entrance – yes, it’s also on the side of the ship.
Turn right and use Recall to get over the turning gear.
Once through, turn left and you’ll see a gear turning, which is disconnected from one which is still. Use a long icicle to bridge the two gears and attach it with Ultrahand.
This will open the locked door here, giving you access to the third turbine.
Fourth Wind Temple windmill turbine – Zelda TOTK
Go back to where you dropped down to the second turbine on B1. At the same hole you dropped down to B2, this time use Ascend to get onto a rafter above.
From here you can Paraglide over the gap without slipping on the ice.
You’ll see a hole in the ceiling of the next room – feel free to Ascend up once again. Go through into the next room and you’ll find a large gear you cannot turn. Pick up one of the stone slabs in the room, attach it to the gear, and then by using Ultrahand on the stone, you can rotate the gear, similar to the switch from before.
The gate will open while the gear rotates, but will close once it stops. Rotate the gear several times to keep the door open, and then use Recall on the gear to keep the gate open while you pass through.
Climb the two ladders to find yourself next to the fourth turbine.
Fifth Wind Temple windmill turbine – Zelda TOTK
This last one is pretty easy. Use the airships with bouncy sails to get right to the top of the tower at the North side of the ark, and then use Ultrahand to open the double doors so you can get inside.
Dive down through the lasers in the shaft, and just below the lasers, you’ll find the windmill turbine room on the North side of the shaft.
Activate it to complete the main part of the Wind Temple.
Colgera boss fight – Zelda TOTK
Colgera seems pretty tough on the surface, but in reality, this might be the easiest boss fight in the game. If you have Fire Fruit or Bomb Fruit in your inventory, you’re in for a smooth time.
Colgera has three large segments across its body, these are spiky on top, and fragile on the bottom. You can glide underneath Colgera and shoot out the weakpoints with arrows, or, if you have Fire Fruit or Bomb Fruit, you can just aim you bow in the air for slow-mo, and let loose a barrage of Bomb Arrows.
Fire Fruit or Bomb Arrows will destroy the spiky exterior shell easily, and then, if you’re low on arrows, you can even fly in for a melee strike to take the creature down. Take out the three segments twice each and Colgera will be down for the count. Simple.
