Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: How to find the Fire Temple, Yunobo of Goron City quest guide
Contents
If you want to complete the Fire Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then you will need to get there. The Fire Temple is lurking deep within Death Mountain, and the only way to find it to work with Yunobo and complete the Yunobo of Goron City quest – but that’s easier said than done.
Yunobo has been acting weird after being given a wrestler-style mask from Princess Zelda, and many of the young Goron are seemingly hypnotized, obsessed with eating Marbled Rock Roast. In this quest we’ll have to get some Fireproof armor or elixirs so we can head into the hottest parts of Death Mountain.

Starting Yunobo of Goron City quest – Zelda TOTK
You can begin the Yunobo of Goron City once you enter Goron City for the first time and speak with the elder Goron that is looking after a lazy worker that has eaten too much Marbled Rock Roast. Yuonob will waltz over wearing his slightly suspicious mask.
You continue the quest at Yunobo Co. HQ, but before we go there, we will need to ensure we are Fireproof.
How to Fireproof Link – Zelda TOTK
You will need either two pieces of Fireproof armor, or a Fireproof Elixir – or, well, several.
There’s an armor shop in Goron City that will sell you Fireproof Armor, only it will cost 700 Rupees for the cheapest piece. Yikes. That’s a minimum of 1,900 Rupees for the armor and boots – the helm is another 1,400 Rupees. If you want to buy them, make sure to check our Rupee farming guide.
The alternative is to make a Fireproof Elixir. A Fireproof Lizard mixed with a monster part will result in a Fireproof Elixir, and there are loads of Fireproof Lizards to be found around Death Mountain and the Eldin region. This is a good alternative to shelling out loads of Rupees, but you’ll need a bunch of Elixirs to make it through the dungeon ahead. There’s a cooking pot next to Yunobo Co. HQ in the next area, so if that’s your choice, make sure to stock up on lizards on the way.
Yunobo Co. HQ location – Zelda TOTK
Once you know how to Fireproof yourself, take the North path out of Goron City and, when you come to the minecart station, take the left rails and sail down on a minecart.
This will bring you to Yunobo Co. HQ, and they are also selling Flamebreaker Armor inside, just as a final reminder.
Just to the right of the Yunobo Co. HQ is the cave where you’ll find Yunobo – there are two young Goron stood outside.
Yunobo boss fight – Zelda TOTK
Once inside you will find Yunobo talking to someone who looks just like Princess Zelda while mining Marbled Rock Roast, but she appears to be controlling his mind. This means you’ll need to fight Yunobo to get him back his senses.
Simply dodge his roll attacks and attack him when he’s stunned – this is a very easy boss fight. Once his health is down, the mask will break and he’ll return to normal.
Chasing Princess Zelda – Zelda TOTK
You now have access to Yunobo’s Power of Fire ability, which will charge Yunobo at something in a fiery ball. You can use this to smash apart the remaining “marbled” rocks. Take note of what these look like, as you’ll be breaking them a lot.
Yunobo will notice Death Mountain spewing Gloom, so now it’s time to chase Princess Zelda. If you look up towards Death Mountain’s peak, you’ll see Sitsum Shrine – this is the first place you should go to get a Fast Travel point. It’s a long climb, so using Zonai devices is recommended.
Climb up to the platforms above Sitsum Shrine and you’ll get a cutscene with Yunobo as you cross.
Moragia boss fight – Zelda TOTK
Things are looking bad – a giant monster has erupted from Death Mountain’s peak, and it’s gross. Luckily it’s not too hard to take down in a well-equipped vehicle.
As the battle starts you will find a fully-equipped Wing Zonai device, with two Big Battery devices, four fans, a cart on the bottom – it has it all. Better still, Yunobo will act as a cannon that you can fire as Moragia’s three heads. Fly up towards them and press A to launch Yunobo at them – he can fly a surprising distance.
It’s a very cool scene, but once you hit each head once, the fight will be over. Yunobo will dive straight into the Death Mountain crater, and you’ll need to follow him.
Death Mountain Chasm, Fire Temple location – Zelda TOTK
If you dive straight down into the crater you will find Mustis Lightroot to the West of the chasm, just over a pool of lava. Yunobo will be near the Lightroot, waiting for you to talk to him.
Now it’s time to follow the statues, as you’ve probably done already. There’s a Goron statue near the Lightroot, and you should simply go in the direction it is facing to find another Lightroot. Repeat until you find your destination – but make sure to activate any Lightroots you see along the way so it’s easier to, well, see.
Luckily your final destination will be set as a waypoint as long as Yunobo of Goron City is set as you activate quest.
Once you arrive at the waypoint, you’ll find yourself at the Fire Temple. Make sure to speak to Yunobo outside before running on in.
