Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been touted as a return to the series’ roots by Ubisoft repeatedly – and not just gameplay-wise. The original Assassin’s Creed is very much the point of orientation for Mirage, which goes for the length of the game as well. Julien Chièze, a French YouTuber, had the opportunity to interview Ubisoft’s Fabien Salomon recently (thanks, PCGamesN), who told him that a completionist playthrough of Assassin’s Creed Mirage would take somewhere from 25 to 30 hours.

This is in line with previously released information about the game’s map, which is somewhere between Unity and Revelations in size. There also won’t be any DLC for Mirage after launch, so players get the complete experience right from the start and will be done when they’re done.

Ubisoft has repeatedly highlighted the compact size of Mirage, which deliberately contrasts the massive scale of all recent series entries such as Odyssey and Valhalla. With the playtime the developers have targeted, Mirage would be about five times shorter than Valhalla, which has been the longest Assassin's Creed title up to now.

Starting with Mirage, Ubisoft wants to deliver experiences for fans of both types of games. There has been backlash about the huge size of recent games, which made them impossible to finish for many users as they contain immense amounts of cookie-cutter content people don’t want to engage with on a repeated basis.

Speaking of cutting: If you want to feel the blows of your enemies on your own body, then OWO’s haptic vest compatible with Assassin’s Creed Mirage might be of interest to you.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to launch on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 12, 2023.
