A brand-new trailer has been released for Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden at The Game Awards 2023, giving us another chance to get a feel for the action RPG developed by DON’T NOD and published by Focus Entertainment. Set for a February 13, 2024, launch, Banishers is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

You can watch the fresh trailer featuring all-new footage below:

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a third-person action RPG focusing on the story of a pair of ghost hunters called Red mac Raith and Antea Duarte. A slight problem for the lovers develops during their travels in New Eden, though: Antea dies and becomes a ghost herself. Her spirit still anchored to the world, she accompanies Red on his hunts, helping him out with her new spirit abilities.

Players can switch between the two characters in combat as well as during exploration, using their unique abilities to defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Red wields a variety of melee and ranged weapons to deal physical damage to opponents, while Antea can assault enemies on a spiritual level, sapping away at their souls. Being a banisher, Red can finish foes off by exorcizing the evil possessing them.

Red and Antea are the protagonist duo of Banishers :: Don't Nod / Focus Entertainment

Having made Life is Strange and Vampyr in the past, DON’T NOD are experts when it comes to a strong narrative and consequential player choices, and these elements are present here, too. After all, Red has sworn to vanquish all spirits – so shouldn’t he do the same with Antea? Or will he sacrifice everything for an opportunity to bring her back instead?

Aside from the standard edition, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is available in a physical Red Echoes Edition and Collector’s Edition via the publisher’s store in limited quantities.

You can find out more in our Banishers preview from gamescom 2023.
