Cities: Skylines 2 hotfix 1.0.11f1 patch notes: First round of performance optimization
The launch for Cities: Skylines 2 has been marred by flaws in the game’s performance, which means that developer Colossal Order has some work ahead of itself. Hotfix 1.0.11f1 has now arrived for the Steam version of the game with the Windows Store getting the update a bit later.
In this hotfix, Colossal Order optimized aspects of the game like depth of field, fog, and global illumination to eliminate some of the performance issues players have been experiencing. The level of detail setting has been decoupled from the rendering resolution, which should produce more consistent performance at high resolutions.
For most players, the game’s issues can be mitigated by using certain Cities: Skylines 2 settings to increase performance, which have been recommended by the developers.
Colossal Order stated that the Cities: Skylines 2 problems are not rooted deeply in the game’s foundation, so these issues should be manageable given some time.
