Update (Feb. 27, 2023): The Destiny 2 server status will go dark on February 27, 2023, at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT / 5pm CET for maintenance. Because the developler has to prepare the game for the release of Lightfall, the upcoming expansion, this will take longer than usual and the game will be offline for 24 hours.

The plan is for the Destiny 2 servers to fully come back online on February 28, 2023, at 9am PT / 12pm / 5pm / 6pm CET, which is when you'll be able to log in again and get back to playing.

You may, however, be plaved in a waiting queue at this time as maintenance will not be fully completed until about an hour later, so there might be some sign-in issues as well as waiting time if you're trying to get into the game immediately.

Destiny 2's servers go down before the Lightfall release / Bungie

Update (Jan. 25, 2023 ): It took a bit longer than expected, but Bungie has finally found a fix for the issue that works. It will be deployed "soon" and should bring the servers back online.

Original (Jan. 25, 2023): The Destiny 2 server status currently looks bleak, as the game has been unavailable for over half a day by now.

Originally, the loot shooter’s servers went down at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm GMT / 8pm CET on January 24, 2023, for an investigation into “an ongoing issue causing certain Triumphs, Seals, and Catalysts to lose progress for players”, according to developer Bungie’s official support Twitter account.

Ever since then, the same account has been giving almost hourly updates about what seems to be a desperate struggle for the developers behind the scenes to get the game back up and running. Various fixes seem to have been created, tested, and thrown back into the bin.

When will the Destiny 2 servers come back online?

While this is subject to change in case there is any trouble with maintenance and deploying the expansion, the developer has communicated that the servers will come back online on February 28, 2023, at 9am PT / 12pm / 5pm / 6pm CET.

We’ll keep you updated on the Destiny 2 server status as it changes.
