In Diablo 4 the Season of Blood has begun, unleashing vampiric powers hungry for the sweet, red life juice in human veins upon Sanctuary. To celebrate this in-game period, Blizzard wants players to donate blood in a “real-life Blood Harvest” that lasts until November 20, 2023, which allows them to unlock in-game rewards as well as real-life prizes for everyone alongside doing some good.

Everyone over the age of 18 years in the United States can participate by donating blood at their nearest blood donation center and logging their contribution via the promotion’s official site.

Blizzard wants to collect 666 quarts of blood – that’s a bit more than 630 liters for everyone not in the US – by the end of the event’s duration. Several milestones can be reached along the way to keep everyone motivated.

At 33% of the goal every Diablo 4 player unlocks the following cosmetics:

  • Dagger: Bloodpetal Anlace
  • Axe: Bloodpetal Sever
  • Necromancer Focus: Bloodpetal Heart
  • Sword: Bloodpetal Blade
  • Druid Staff: Bloodpetal Bludgeon

At 66% of the goal every Diablo 4 player unlocks the following cosmetic:

  • The Loch Raeth Maor Barbarian Armor Cosmetic

At 100% of the goal every Diablo 4 player unlocks the following mount:

  • The Vermilion Eye Piebald Mount

All unlocked rewards become available on November 22, 2023.

Furthermore, reaching the goal unlocks a sweepstakes (again, only for US-based players) for a gaming PC that Blizzard says is “infused with real human blood” and contains a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 alongside an Intel Core i9 CPU, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, 3TB SSD storage, and a Quantum Vector CPU Waterblock – in short: a powerful battlestation.

We’re not too sure of the general cooling capabilities of blood and how well it would do inside a PC as well as any legal hurdles of using human blood industrially, so it’s unlikely that blood will actually flow inside the cooling system – red-colored water will surely do the trick. The PC could just contain a small compartment with a drop of bodily fluids somewhere to technically fulfill the promise of being infused with blood, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Diablo 4 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 won’t come to Xbox Game Pass in 2023
