A Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo is out now – sort of
Capcom released a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo ahead of the RPG’s launch later in March, but it’s not the kind of demo you’re probably expecting. You can download Dragon’s Dogma 2’s character creator and tinker to your heart’s delight with the full set of creation tools for your Arisen – Dogma-talk for your hero – and their main Pawn.
Pawns are the characters who follow you around and aid in combat, among other things.
It’s probably a good thing that we get the Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator two weeks before launch. It comes with dozens of ways to tweak your lion-man, human, or whatever else you decide to create, with multiple sliders for noses and other features. Then you get to do it all over again for your main Pawn.
The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 has far more in it than just you and your trusty companion. Game director Hideaki Itsuno said over 1,000 characters inhabit the vast land. Some have quests to offer. Some just want you dead. All of them change their attitude, lives, and loves depending on your actions. Itsuno said everything you do has consequences in Dragon’s Dogma 2, though whether that influences the story and its endings, he didn’t say.
The Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and you can transfer your characters to the full version when it launches on March 22, 2024.
