EA reveals logo, details about its FIFA successor, EA Sports FC
EA Sports revealed on Thursday the new logo and brand identity for its flagship soccer sim game and FIFA successor, EA Sports FC.
The new logo is shaped like a triangle, taking inspiration from "a dominant shape in football culture that represents the sport in multiple dimensions". The triangular shape also references the isometric polygons which make up every modern 3D game, the chemistry triangles found in the game's most popular mode, Ultimate Team, and the current player indicator during matches.
EA Sports FC is Electronic Arts' successor to the FIFA series, after the game publisher and football's governing body ended their partnership last year. FIFA 23 is the last EA game to use the FIFA brand, as the publisher's next title was rebranded to EA Sports FC.
The game's new logo and brand will be shown in the coming days during soccer matches across the biggest leagues which are partners of EA Sports and will feature in the upcoming game, including the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, WSL, NWSL, CONMEBOL and more.
The new logo was shared on social media by the big three console makers, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo, each showing it on a background based on that platform's main brand color.
Many football clubs, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Juventus, also took to social media to share the new logo in their team colors. The Major League Soccer also reconfirmed its presence in the next game by posting about EA Sports FC's new brand on Twitter:
The MLS and EA announced an extension of their long-term partnership and licensing agreement back in August 2022.
More details about the first EA Sports FC game are coming in July and EA has set up an EA Sports FC website where fans can sign up for updates.
