Square Enix announces Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4 release, details
The Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.4 release date is coming up fast, and Square Enix has quite a bit in store for the MMO’s next chapter. FFXIV patch 6.4 launches sometime in late May, with a specific date coming at a later time.
When it does arrive, patch 6.4 will add new main story quests, continuing the Warrior of Light’s story in a post-Endwalker world, along with the new Aetherfront dungeon, the Voidcast Dais trial with normal and extreme difficulties, and a new Unreal Trial as well. The patch also adds the Pandaemonium raid series’ final installment.
On the dungeon front, patch 6.4 extends the Duty Support system further into Stormblood, with the option to tackle five Stormblood dungeons with a party of NPCs instead of humans – perfect if you’re trying the free Stormblood offer that’s live on PC and console through May.
Speaking of Stormblood, you can go fishing in Kugane once the patch is live, one of the expansion’s major cities.
A new season of Final Fantasy XIV’s PvP kicks off with the patch, and a hefty update to Island Sanctuary introduces quality of life changes, the option to place outdoor furniture, new crops and animals, and more ranks.
The Blue Mage finally gets their level cap raised to 80, Tataru’s Grand Endeavor continues, and there are yet more Hildebrand adventures.
Meanwhile, the Hatching Tide event is live through April 10, with its usual seasonal festivities and the chance to earn a Tonberry glamour set that people totally aren’t dying to look like a penis (they totally are).
There's no sign yet of any crossovers with other games, though if producer Naoki Yoshida's latest teases are anything to go by, that might change in the not-so-distant future.
