Sim racing game Forza Motorsport will be released on October 10, 2023, for PC and Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft has announced. Developed by Turn 10 Studios and described as the “most technically advanced racing game ever made” by its creative director, Chris Esaki, it’s technically the eight entry into the sim racing focused Forza spin-off series.

Since the current trend in the video games industry is to use no numbers at all in titles or begin again at “1”, Forza Motorsport has the same exact name as the 2005 original, so don’t get confused – this is not a remake or a remaster and more like a reboot. Offering over 500 vehicles and 800 upgrades at launch, the game certainly has plenty of cars to choose from. About 100 of these will be brand-new to the series, most of the others have been in previous titles and will be familiar to veteran players and car enthusiasts.

Aside from multiplayer modes that range from casual races to hyper-realistic competitive affairs, Forza Motorsport will feature a single-player career mode as well.

It’s been three years since the game was initially announced at a Xbox Games Showcase, but a relatively steady stream of news and footage has kept racing game fans happy and excited in the meantime, such as an impressive five-minute gameplay video shown off in 2022.

Naturally, the release date announcement was accompanied by plenty of beautiful footage you can check out here:
