Polish developer 11 bit studios has released a gameplay trailer for Frostpunk 2, showing off how the sequel is changing things up compared to the original survival city-builder. Furthermore it has been announced that Frostpunk 2 will be released in the first half of 2024 for PC with the console version coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date.

Frostpunk 2 will be available for subscribers to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass as soon as it has been released on the respective platforms – another big get for Microsoft.

You can watch the new Frostpunk 2 gameplay trailer below:

Where the original Frostpunk had you manage a single group of survivors on a micro level, the sequel gives you responsibility for a growing metropolis. You build entire districts at once and command a growing number of resources. But as soon as survival is no longer everybody’s daily top priority, human nature starts to crawl back to stir up trouble – different people want to see society head into different directions. It’ll be up to you to unite the people behind a common policy and keep things peaceful – or crush any dissent by force.

You can read more about Frostpunk 2 in our preview from gamescom 2023, which dives deep into the systems the sequel has to offer. It’s just as dystopian and dark as the original game, but upgrades the scale of everything that’s happening.

You can also sign-up to test an upcoming Frostpunk mobile game this year, which will bring the dark city-builder into your pocket.
