Genshin Impact 4.0 characters Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet revealed
HoYoverse is in an announcement mood today. After releasing a brilliant story trailer for Fontaine, the upcoming region of Genshin Impact and next chapter of the RPG’s epic story, the studio has revealed more details around three characters joining the playable roster in the future – likely with update 4.0 in August 2023.
Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet all seem to be siblings, though only Lyney and Lynette wear outfits that look similar. We’ve seen both of them in the trailer released earlier today already – they are stage performers and excite the audience with magic tricks. Freminet could be the person from the start of the trailer, who ominously sinks deeply into the dark sea. That person wore a sort of diving suit and Freminet seems to be equipped with diving equipment as well – an oxygen tank, by the looks of it.
Lyney – Pyro
Description:
"Sometimes it distracts with a feint, others it pretends to slip up and reveal a flaw... When things get serious, sleight of hand dazzles more than the magic itself. Can you guess what it is?"
Lyney is called a “celebrated magician of the Court of Fontaine” – his choice of weapon is not apparent from his artwork.
Lynette – Anemo
Description:
"That's already the fifth time this month... Haven't you learned not to mess with Lynette?" – Words muttered by Freminet to a vacuum cleaner, overheard by Lyney as he left his room in the dead of night.
Lynette is called a "Multi-Function Magic Assistant" and just like for Lyney we can’t really say anything about her weapon from the artwork alone.
Freminet – Cryo
Description:
"Did you see that? As the dove emerged from the hat, the corner of Freminet's mouth turned up very slightly. Imagine how he'd react if we could find a way to make a whole flock of them fly out! After all, as his big brother, it's my duty to make him laugh." – Lyney winked as he discussed with Lynette after a rehearsal.
Called a “renowned diver of the Court of Fontaine”, he’s depicted as wielding The Bell as his weapon, which is a claymore. He also doesn’t seem to be the emotional type, going by Lyney’s sentence from above.
We don’t know who among the three will be ranked as 5-star or 4-star characters, but the odds are great that you’ll get to pull for them (as well as meet them in the story) with update 4.0’s release in August.
