The six-week update cycle for Genshin Impact means that we get lots of fresh content on a regular basis. However, many of the game’s events and new regions tend to come with additional gadgets we need to use to solve puzzles, gain access to more areas, or simply to participate in minigames. Players have grown very frustrated with this development, since there is no way of quickly switching between gadgets – you always need to go into the inventory, scroll to the page with all your gadgets, look for the right one, and then equip it.

A solution suggested by the community was the introduction of a gadget wheel, which can be used to switch between different items in a quick fashion, saving us lots of time. This way of solving things is especially elegant since similar wheels are already part of the game’s UI.

And by the Seven Archons, MiHoYo seems to have heard our wishes. Leaks from the current beta tests of update 3.7 in China show that the developers have implemented a gadget wheel with four slots we can freely fill out with items. This is a massive quality of life change for the game and should be of great help as we continue to see an influx of additional gadgets that are needed for exploration and events.

Naturally, this is no guarantee that the feature will make it into the final release of update 3.7, which is expected towards the end of May 2023. However, if the tests go well and MiHoYo is confident that the implementation of the system is working in a satisfactory manner, we may finally get access to the gadget wheel as 3.7 comes out.

Update 3.7 will likely also bring Kirara, a new Dendro character from Inazuma, into the game, whose skills we know from the ongoing beta tests as well.
