Update 2 (Feb. 10, 2023): In the US, players can pre-order the limited edition Hogwarts Legacy DualSense PS5 controller starting February 10, 2023, at 10am PT / 1pm ET. The controller's launch date will be February 28, 2023, in the US. To pre-order, visit the official PlayStation website.

Update 1 (Feb. 10, 2023): PlayStation's shop now lists the limited edition Hogwarts Legacy DualSense PS5 controller as "currently unavailable", so it seems like the supplies have been exhausted. It took about 3.5 hours for the controller to be sold out.

Original (Feb. 10, 2023): Sony has unveiled a limited edition Hogwarts Legacy DualSense PS5 controller. This black controller with golden images showing flowing lines of magic as well as the castle at Hogwarts will first be available for UK gamers on the official PlayStation website on February 10, 2023, at 10am GMT – just in time to celebrate the official launch of the open-world RPG.

It costs £69.99 and comes without USB cable, as it's a wireless version.

"Live the unwritten with this limited edition DualSense wireless controller, adorned with the world-famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry", reads the description.

Hogwarts Legacy features a PS5 exclusive quest and fully uses the DualSense's unique features to enhance gameplay.

“The DualSense wireless controller enabled us to build a unique gaming experience leveraging key technologies like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, LED light feedback, touchpad usage, speaker audio and tilt controls”, WB Games representative Chandler Wood said on this topic.

“The most exciting part of our game is the amazing combat experiences controlling your wand and casting all kinds of unique spells”, he added. “The combination of adaptive triggers with haptic feedback made our combat encounters felt authentic and totally immersive. You feel like you are in total control of your avatar and as you perform combos and finishers you get rewarded with stunning visual effects and enemy reactions.”

The limited edition controller will also be available in the US, though Sony did not yet release any details about the timeline.
