Three upcoming Honkai: Star Rail characters have been confirmed to be introduced via the version 1.6 banners, adding to the steadily growing roster of playable units in the space RPG. This update is set to come out around Christmas and will bear gifts for all types of collectors. New as well as familiar faces will be included in this version of the game, with some fan favorite voice actors joining the fray as well.

Here are all newly announced Honkai: Star Rail 1.6 characters.

Ruan Mei – Harmony, Ice

Ruan Mei, the next playable member of the Genius Society / HoYoverse

Ruan Mei is a 5-Star character following The Harmony and dealing Ice Damage. We’ve indirectly met her a few times already in Honkai: Star Rail, since she’s helping her Genius Society colleagues Herta, Screwllum, and Stephen Lloyd with the Simulated Universe projects, in which she has her own event in Occurence domains. Her voice actress will be Emi Lo (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Chainsaw Man) and here is her official description:

"Want some pastry? The plums used in this recipe are freshly macerated, and I waited in line a long time for them." A sweet-tempered and elegant scholar. Member #81 of the Genius Society. An expert in the biological sciences. She earned Nous' attention with her talent and terrifying perseverance, and began her research on the origin of life in a secret corner of the universe. For that, she was invited by Herta to collaborate with Screwllum and Stephen to develop the Simulated Universe. Secretly, she greatly enjoys traditional theater and desserts, and she is also very interested in embroidery.

Dr. Ratio – Hunt, Imaginary

Dr. Ratio somewhat looks like Fate's Gilgamesh with dyed hair / HoYoverse

Next up is Dr. Ratio, another 5-Star character. He’s a follower of The Hunt and deals Imaginary Damage. Voiced by Jordan Paul Haro, we haven’t heard much about the character in the game. Here’s what his official description says:

"The most annoying thing about idiocy is that you can't explain it to an idiot." A candid and self-centered Intelligentsia Guild member, who often conceals his appearance with a strange plaster sculpture. He demonstrated unparalleled intelligence and talent since his youth, but now refers to himself as a "Mundanite." He firmly believes that intellect and creativity are not confined to geniuses. He seeks to distribute knowledge to the entire universe to cure the persistent disease named ignorance.

Xueyi – Destruction, Quantum

Xueyi is an important official in the Xianzhou Luofu / HoYoverse

Finally, Xueyi has been revealed. She’s a 4-Star character dealing Quantum Damage and following The Destruction. We’ve met her on the Xianzhou Luofu a few times while questing there and she’s also been confirmed to be the sister of Hanya, who’ll be introduced in update 1.5. She’s voiced by Jenny Yokobori, who plays Yoimiya in Genshin Impact. This is her official description:

"You are talking to a puppet. The Commission gifted me this body." One of the judges of the Ten-Lords Commission. Of the four duties of a judge (detention, interrogation, incarceration, and punishment), she is charged with detention. Holding iron chains and a Marasunder Awl in her hands, she tirelessly tracks down wanted criminals and subdues them.

Before this trio becomes available, however, the Honkai: Star Rail 1.5 livestream will tell us more about Argenti, Huohuo, and Hanya, who’ll join the game in the upcoming version.
