Legendary NBA star LeBron James has teamed up with Sony back in March 2023 to release a duo of limited-edition accessories for the PS5 that he co-designed and we now have a release date for them.

Both a console cover and a wireless DualSense controller decorated with “personal imagery and adages that have been meaningful throughout his journey” will be available on July 27, 2023, on the PlayStation Store.

Pre-orders will already start on June 29, 2023. As this will be a limited edition, the sale will only go on while supplies last.

The PS5 cover will be available exclusively in the US for a price of $64.99.

The limited edition DualSense controller can be purchased in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg for a price of $79.99 USD / €79.99 / £69.99 / $99.99 CAD.

“It’s still crazy to think a kid from Akron who grew up playing games is getting to create something like this. Designing a console cover and controller with PlayStation that gives a nod to my I Promise students and where we come from is a pretty cool thing. I hope it’s something that continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they have a little fun finding meaning in every detail,” the sports icon commented on this collaboration.

This is the first collaboration coming from Sony’s Playmakers program, which includes LeBron James alongside Jimmie Allen, King Bach, Nigel Sylvester, NaLyssa Smith, Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Lisa Zimouche, Romelu Lukaku, Julio Cocielo and more stars of sports, culture, and the internet.

“From his record-breaking achievements in basketball to his extraordinary efforts to lift his community, LeBron is an inspiration to many of us at PlayStation. We couldn’t have asked for a more ideal partner to be the first-ever collaborator to design limited-edition PlayStation products. It was great to see LeBron’s vision for the design come to life and showcase his passions for gaming and community. We hope PlayStation fans will love this design as much as we enjoyed helping create it,” the PlayStation blog stated in regards to working with LeBron James.

Earlier this year, Sony launched a limited-edition Hogwarts Legacy controller in the US and the UK, which sold out in mere minutes after becoming available for purchase.
