Hello Games, the studio behind No Man’s Sky, has announced Light No Fire at The Game Awards 2023. Called the "first real open world" by Sean Murray, the title is a fantasy multiplayer survival RPG on a highly detailed and huge planet. It has been confirmed to come for PC.

You watch the announcement trailer for Light No Fire below:

The trailer shows players working in a village, diving through waters, flying towards high mountains on dragonback, and riding through plains on the backs of deers.

The official description reads:

Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.

Sean Murray, the co-founder of the studio, revealed back in 2020 that only a part of the staff at Hello Games was continuing to work on the steady flow of free No Man’s Sky updates – a flow buying the company a huge amount of goodwill from gamers around the world – while the rest was already developing a new title.

Having learned from the hype around No Man’s Sky’s launch and the resulting PR disaster when the title didn’t hold all of its promises, he kept silent about details. Later, in 2022, he stated that it was still in the early stages of development, but said that it was a project that’d be considered impossible even with a thousand people working on it, indicating that it was another ambitious product.

More updates for No Man's Sky are planned for 2024 as well.
