No rest for the wicked: DON’T NOD is currently putting the finishing touches on Banishers, but already has another project in the works at its Montreal studio: Lost Records has been announced at The Game Awards 2023 and it has some incredibly special vibes that are reminiscent of Stranger Things, the popular horror and mystery show from Netflix. Lost Records is set for a release in late 2024 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

You can watch the mysterious Lost Records announcement trailer here:

A group of youths up to some mischief is depicted as suddenly facing a mysterious force, until a time skip shows us one of the group's members as an adult, leaving us with more questions than answers about what the game will be like.

The official description says the following:

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a brand-new story-driven journey through time. The magical summer of 1995 is one of self-discovery and forging unbreakable bonds for high school friends Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. 27 years of no contact later, fate reunites them to confront the long-buried secret that made them promise to never speak again.

Executive Producer Luc Baghadoust and Creative Director Michel Koch commented: “It’s been quite an adventure for us since our incredible Life is Strange experience – relocating to Canada, setting up our Montréal studio, and assembling a fantastic team during the global challenges we’ve all faced. Today we are thrilled to finally unveil Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. This new universe is brimming with the magical realism we love, and we are eager to reveal more about Swann, Nora, Autumn, Kat and their journey. We can’t wait to hear the community’s thoughts!”

DON’T NOD, which is headquartered in the French capital Paris, is the studio behind games like Vampyr, Life is Strange, and more recently Jusant – it’s a team that knows how to do ‘weird’ well and seems to feel at home in any genre. Lost Records will be the first game from its studio in Montreal.
