Nightingale offline mode in the works after negative feedback
Inflexion Games announced that it would develop an offline mode for Nightingale, the survival crafting game it recently released via Early Access. Players were not happy about the game forcing them to play online and made their opinion widely known. It looks like the developers understood the message and have adapted their plans to indulge the community.
Inflexion posted a statement on Nightingale’s official Discord server, saying it had “seen a lot of discussion in recent days around our decision to make Nightingale online-only at our Early Access release. We understand that this can be frustrating for a number of reasons.”
“Our vision for the game since inception was to create an interconnected series of Realms, with the idea of allowing for co-operative exploration in mind – a universe bigger than a single Realm or server,” the post added. “That meant we made a choice early in development between supporting co-op from day one or focusing development on an offline mode.”
According to the developers, they focused on the online co-op element first, as this was the more challenging aspect from a technical perspective. “Looking back on that decision, we misjudged what some of you were looking for in your experience,” they admitted.
At the end of the statement, Inflexion announced that it was “now prioritizing and developing an offline mode that we plan to release as soon as feasible.” It promised to deliver updates on this as soon as it could.
Nightingale so far peaked at around 47,569 players on Steam (via SteamDB), which is far below the numbers of other titles from the same genre that were recently released, such as Palworld and Enshrouded.
