Chinese company PixArt, which manufactures several components found in the Nintendo Switch as well as its predecessors Wii and Wii U, indicated in a financial report released a few days ago that another big console from a Japanese manufacturer will be launched early next year, which is going to help PixArt achieve great financial results (via MoneyDJ and Notebook Check).

While the names of Nintendo or the console were not mentioned in the report, it did specify that the hardware manufacturer in question had not released a console in years – and that heavily indicates Nintendo, since Sony’s PS5 came out in 2020.

PixArt is the second Chinese company to recently hint at an imminent console release. Earlier this year MoneyDJ reported on the financials of a metal case manufacturer called Hongzun, which similarly to PixArt expects increased sales in the near future due to the anticipated launch of a new Nintendo console in the first quarter of 2024.

MoneyDJ has a good track record when it comes to this kind of information, having correctly revealed early information about the Nintendo Switch during that console’s production phase.

Nintendo has been keeping very silent about a potential Switch successor other than saying that there wouldn’t be any hardware releases before the end of the current fiscal year, which is at the end of March 2024.

The Nintendo Switch became the third best-selling console of all time earlier this year, finally surpassing the GameBoy with a total of over 122 million units sold. Sales noticeably slowed down this year, however, so it might be the right time for Nintendo to start talking about the future.
