EA and Maxis announced a new Sims 4 stuff pack, and if you like collecting shiny things, making shiny things, and selling shiny things in the life game, this one’s for you. The new Sims 4 stuff pack is Crystal Creations, a mini-expansion that’s all about, well, crystals and things you can make with them.

Sims 4 update and collab put inclusion first in the life-sim

Crystal Creations introduces 27 crystal varieties – most for the base game and some unique to certain expansions. Get to Work has Crandestine, for example, while Jungle Adventure adds Alexandrite and Nitelite. Whatever crystals you gather, you can turn them into swanky jewelry pieces at your Gemology table, using the pack’s new Gemology skill. Maxis said you can create over 1,000 “unique permutations” of jewelry, which you can then accessorize your Sim with, give as gifts, or sell for extra Simoleons.

The crafting component sounds pretty involved as well. In addition to deciding on a stone and how to cut it, you’ll choose which metal to set it in, with selections ranging from normal, everyday metals like silver to those with more colorful appearances, such as baconite and romantium. Maxis said the team collaborated with Sims community creator Arethabee on a set of premade jewelry you can find in the Create-A-Sims menu as well.

Crystals come with effects that augment your relationships and emotions, assuming you charge them in the crystal charger when the lunar phase is just right, so the right – or wrong – piece of jewelry could have effects that reach farther than you might think.

Finally, the Sims 4 Crystal Creation stuff pack adds some romantic, moody clothing and furnishing options as well – flora tops, puff-sleeved shirts, velvet sofas, and crystal-encrusted mirrors, to name a few.

The Sims 4 Crystal Creations launches for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on Feb. 29, 2024. Maxis didn’t mention a price, but Sims 4 stuff packs almost always go for $9.99.
