Solium Infernum is headed for a February 2024 release
League of Geeks’ Solium Infernum, which is best described as a version of Game of Thrones taking place in hell, will be released on February 14, 2024, for PC via Steam.
Before launch, a multiplayer test for interested users will be available. Since matches can last anywhere from two to four hours, the game will feature an asynchronous multiplayer option to allow players to fit their turns into their daily schedule.
Based on the original turn-based strategy game of the same name from 2009, Solium Infernum casts players in the role of high-ranking demons who compete for power and influence against their peers. Everyone’s ultimate goal is to win enough support from the conclave to be crowned the next ruler of hell and ascend the empty throne.
However, Solium Infernum’s version of hell conforms to the popular picture of a very rules-bound society. Put simple: Going around and smashing your rivals with a big flaming club is a big taboo. Instead, you need to use cunning, intrigues, and legal loopholes to amass influence as well as chip away at the status of your rivals. And, demons being demons, deals and bets are a frequent occurrence as well with influence and power often being wagered.
Knowing the ins and outs of the system and being able to manipulate the turn order in your favor are some of the most important skills in this competition.
Solium Infernum’s release date announcement has been accompanied by a new trailer, which you can watch below:
“Solium Infernum has much to offer both grand strategy enthusiasts and newcomers. We've been diligently crafting a game that caters to all players, from those who prefer single-player experiences to multiplayer aficionados who relish competing, betraying, and backstabbing their friends online,” commented Trent Kusters, Co-Founder and Director of League of Geeks.
