Star Wars Jedi Survivor has fast travel and space mounts
Star Wars Jedi Survivor will feature fast travel to get where you need to go, well, fast, along with mounts for more leisurely travel in the space game. The news comes from an upcoming issue of PLAY Magazine (thanks, GamesRadar), and it’s welcome news indeed.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis’ first outing, saw him trek throughout the stars with no easy or convenient mode of transport available. His journey was more like that of Samus Aran in Nintendo’s Metroid series, which was presumably meant to encourage exploration and new discoveries after you unlocked new powers.
The setup certainly worked, but it’s nice to know we can zip around hyper space-style if we don’t have the time to trudge across an entire planet just to uncover a handful of secrets.
As for what the mounts will be, director Stig Asmussen only said they’re meant to help “quickly negotiate between points and explore,” but he didn’t mention what kind of mounts the team created. Whether that means Cal gets his own Tan Tan or a biddable Wookie to carry him around – or, best of all, his own podracer – we’ll just have to wait and see.
We’ll be waiting a bit longer than first expected, too. EA and Respawn pushed Star Wars Jedi Survivor out of its original March release date to April 28, 2023. If you don’t want to wait that long to see Cal again, check out the expansive Movie Duels mod for earlier Star Wars Jedi games, complete with playable Cal and some of the best lightsaber combat you’ll find in any Star Wars game.
