EA has apologized for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s terrible performance on PC, pledging to fix as many problems as it can in the coming weeks and months. The game currently has roughly 50% negative reviews on Steam, many of which complain about the game’s technical issues.

In a statement made on the official EA Star Wars Twitter account, EA said that the game wasn’t performing to the company’s standards for “a percentage” of PC players, and singled out players with high-end machines and specific configurations.

“For example, players using cutting-edge, multi-threaded chipsets designed for Windows 11 were encountering problems on Windows 10, or high-end GPUs coupled with lower-performing CPUs also saw unexpected frame loss,” EA’s statement reads, “Rest assured, we are working to address these cases quickly.”

EA continues: “While there is no single, comprehensive solution for PC performance, the team has been working on fixes we believe will improve performance across a spectrum of configurations … Thanks for understanding and apologies to any of our players experiencing these issues.”

Notably, EA did not mention the console version of Jedi: Survivor, which is similarly marred by performance issues. As noted in our own Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review, the game has frequent frame drops on PS5, even regularly falling below the PS5’s VRR range of 48fps.

That’s not just us saying so, however, as the premier experts on game performance, Digital Foundry, has found similarly in its analysis of the game. Digital Foundry discovered that despite dropping the resolution as low as 648p in performance mode, the frame rate regularly drops as low as 30fps.

Digital Foundry’s analysis of the PC version wasn’t much kinder, showing that the game is filled with stutters, performance issues, and poor system utilization. Digital Foundry even went as far to say that the game was “the worst triple-A PC port of 2023 so far”, which given we’re only barely in May, doesn’t mean all that much. That said, other titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4 have had issues on PC too, and it’s seemingly becoming more of a problem.

Hopefully EA follows through with its promise to fix Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PC, and follows it up with updates to the console version too.
