Total War: Warhammer 3 is finally getting back some swing after the announcement of three big DLC packs for 2023 and the full release of the Immortal Empires game mode.

In a post on the strategy game series’ official forums, a Creative Assembly community manager revealed a few more details about what players can expect in the near future. After many teasers and hints – the latest of which can be found at the end of the brilliant Immortal Empires trailer – it is clear that Chaos Dwarfs will be the faction coming to the game next.

The Dawi-Zharr are finally coming / Creative Assembly

The Dawi-Zharr worship the minor Chaos God of greed and tyranny, Hashut, and are basically a mix of fantasy Dwarf stereotypes, ancient Babylonian aesthetics, and steampunk technology. They also engage in slavery, using Greenskins in their megalomaniac building projects as well as for cannon fodder in their armies. Needless to say, Total War: Warhammer players have waited for the Chaos Dwarfs for a long time, because that sure sounds like a fun faction to mess around with.

It’s already been confirmed that the Chaos Dwarf DLC will be released in April 2023, but this new forum post has revealed that we’ll see the official DLC announcement and all the accompanying information about its content in mid-March.

In addition to this tidbit, the post confirms one of the items that’s supposed to be included in the 3.0 Update, which will launch alongside the DLC. It’s a long-awaited fix of a line of sight issue plaguing ranged units with black powder weapons, which basically makes them useless in siege battles.

Creative Assembly also plans to reveal a roadmap for the rest of the year after the DLC’s launch in April.
