The age of gaming subscriptions is rapidly advancing and Ubisoft has positioned itself as one of the big players in this area alongside Microsoft, Sony, and EA with its Ubisoft+ service. However, the space is evolving quickly and companies must remain flexible to stay competitive. For this reason, Ubisoft announced some big changes to Ubisoft+ on January 16, 2024.

The current Ubisoft+ subscription – Ubisoft+ Multi-Access and PC Access – will be rolled into the rebranded Ubisoft+ Premium service, while a new offer with a different target audience will be available as well, called Ubisoft+ Classics.

Ubisoft+ Premium contains “day one access to new releases and in some cases, like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, early access to upcoming new releases. This is on top of our extensive back catalog, where you’ll have access to premium editions, DLC, and monthly rewards,” according to Philippe Tremblay, the director of subscriptions at Ubisoft. This membership costs $17.99 USD per month and is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna.

It’s worth noting that Ubisoft+ PC Access subscribers will get to keep their current membership at the usual price – they aren’t migrated to the new plan by force.

Ubisoft+ Classics, on the other hand, is “a curated selection of our most popular back-catalog games, like Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs: Legion.” It’s available on PC for $7.99 USD per month and will be included with PS+ Extra and PS+ Premium memberships.

Games included with Classics have been selected based on the behavior of current Ubisoft+ members, Tremblay explained. “As mentioned earlier, when we look at the results, players are really enjoying and engaging with our back catalog when they subscribe. So, we saw an opportunity to craft a service specifically around said catalog. We think it's a strong offer at the price point, and the catalog will only grow as we keep adding games to it as time goes on, so players can discover even more of our worlds,” he said.

It looks like nothing is changing regarding the Ubisoft games available in PC Game Pass.

Plans to add the Activision Blizzard catalog to the service are progressing as well – in case you forgot, Ubisoft acquired some exclusive rights related to that company’s library as part of last year’s deal that saw Microsoft take over the developer and publisher.
