Sony’s upcoming PS5 games trailer hints at Silent Hill 2 release
Sony released a new upcoming PS5 games trailer showcasing some of the major games launching on the console in 2024, and among them are Silent Hill 2 remake and Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta. Despite some rumors that suggested developer Bloober Team finished the upcoming horror game in early 2023, Konami had previously offered no anticipated timeframe for either remake.
There’s still no official word on when to expect either game, but if Sony says 2024 in its promo reels, then presumably, plans for launch are starting to solidify.
Bloober Team’s handling of sensitive themes in The Medium left some thinking it wasn’t the best choice for the job. However, the studio assured fans that Silent Hill 2 remake will stick faithfully to the original, addressing concerns that the team might alter the story or themes in some way.
"We faithfully stick to the traditional story canon while remaking the gameplay and updating the graphics from the ground up,” Bloober said after the Silent Hill anniversary broadcast in 2022. “These are the reasons why Konami entrusted us with the remake in the first place."
What Konami has in store for Metal Gear Solid 3 Delta is a little murkier, though. The team shared little information about the project after its announcement during one of Sony’s 2023 State of Play presentations, aside from explaining why the “Delta” part of the title fits Konami’s ambitions.

“The Delta symbol (Δ) was chosen because its meaning fits the concept of the remake project,” Konami said on the series’ official Twitter page. “Delta means ‘change’ or ‘difference’ without changing structure.”
Which doesn’t really suggest much about what kind of differences we can expect that justify calling Delta a remake over a remaster, but if 2024 really is the anticipated release frame, perhaps we’ll know more soon enough.
