At long last, Valheim, the Viking survival game, is coming to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass, developer Iron Gate announced in a new trailer. Valheim’s Xbox release date is March 14, 2023, for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

PC Game Pass subscribers already have access to the game via Windows. Xbox previously confirmed that Valheim crossplay is supported across all platforms, including Steam.

Valheim’s initial launch in 2021 was a rousing success, so much so that the team had to halt development on future features just to stabilize what was already there since they hadn’t expected so many players to take to their game.

Valheim sets you loose in a Viking fantasy and tasks you with surviving and thriving across several biomes, including the new Mistlands region. The task is more difficult than it sounds, since nearly everything wants to kill you, but if you learn the ins and outs of your deadly surroundings, you can eventually tame the wilds and build a luxurious homestead of your own.

Iron Gate is currently working on another new biome, the barren Ashlands region, but it’s still in the very early stages of development.
