It’s still a bit more than a month until Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin launches for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on November 17, 2023, and developer Frontier has taken some time out of its busy schedule to inform interested players about the changes it has made since the beta test of the real-time strategy game.

Many of these improvements were quite necessary in the user interface and control categories, in particular when it comes to the PC version of the title. Since Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is a RTS game designed with Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in mind, there were more than a few rough spots in the mouse and keyboard controls. However, Frontier has been very serious about taking feedback from testers about this, doing its best to bring things up to standard.

Players will be able to completely customize the scale of all UI elements, enabling them to determine how large they want certain panels and elements to appear on the screen. By default, the UI takes over large parts of the screen due to having to consider users playing from their couch – for PC gamers, however, this was a bit too much. Giving players full control over this aspect is a welcome move that should satisfy everyone. In addition, users will be able to move their vision around while having a build menu open and they’ll be able to close these elements by simply clicking somewhere on the map – again, this is all pretty standard stuff, but was simply not present at first due to the console focus.

In the same vein, Frontier has reduced the amount of clicks necessary for many other actions such as building Bastions and activating certain unit abilities. Controls felt a little clunky sometimes due to actions requiring several clicks, so this should greatly help smooth the overall feeling out.

Tooltips for technologies and buildings have been reworked to give crucial information to players more effectively, which is another big plus and should make entry into the title easier.

You can find a full breakdown of the improvements in the official video:

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will launch with a narrative single-player campaign, a single-player challenge mode, and 1v1 as well as 2v2 multiplayer. It will also contain an army painter, map editor, and scene editor.
