Mystics win 5th straight, 88-53 over Stars

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Kia Vaughn scored all 15 of her points in a decisive first half, Stefanie Dolson had 14 and the Washington Mystics beat the San Antonio Stars 88-53 on Friday night for the their fifth straight win.
It is Washington's longest winning streak in five years.
Emma Meesseman had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Washington (11-6). The Mystics made 9 of 15 3-pointers and outrebounded the Stars 42-25.
Washington took control in the second quarter, outscoring the Stars 26-11. The Mystics shot 64 percent from the field in the first half and held a 49-27 halftime lead. Washington opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run for a 31-point advantage.
Sophia Young-Malcolm had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists for San Antonio (6-13). Kayla McBride added 11 points. The Stars had their six-game home winning streak snapped after scoring their second-fewest points of the season.
