It didn't take long for Angel Reese to hear her name called on draft night in Brooklyn on Monday evening, as she was selected with the No. 7 pick in the first round by the Chicago Sky.

The first person to greet Reese after she was drafted was none other than LSU coach Kim Mulkey, who was in attendance to show support to the former Tigers star.

Reese, who was tearing up during her interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe, began to walk off stage when she was greeted by Mulkey, who had gotten up out of her seat and run over to celebrate with her former player. The pair shared an emotional moment, exchanging a hug just next to the stage.

Mulkey coached Reese during her final two college seasons after the power forward transferred from Maryland to LSU. Mulkey made the trip out to New York in order to be in attendance as Reese entered the WNBA.

Reese isn't the only college star headed to Chicago, either. She'll be joined by South Carolina standout Kamilla Cardoso, who was selected with the No. 3 pick, a link-up which Reese expressed her excitement about.
