Angel Reese’s Powerful Message About Her Mom Before WNBA Debut Loved by Fans
Angel Reese made her WNBA debut Wednesday night, scoring 12 points and collecting eight rebounds in the Chicago Sky's 87-79 loss on the road to the Dallas Wings.
Reese, who led LSU to a national title in 2023 and was the No. 7 pick in last month's WNBA draft, had a great interview before the game in which she talked about what motivates her to be the great basketball player that she has become.
Her answer? Her mom, who Reese wants to work hard for every day along her journey.
“I’m from Baltimore…My mom is a single mom," She said. "Being able to raise two kids…I just graduated. My mom wouldn’t have been able to pay for college for me and my brother without athletic and academic scholarships. So i'm blessed. My mom didn't have student loans, my brother graduates in December. So being able to walk away like that is all I've ever wanted in life. Me and my mom have a really close relationship. Just me, my mom, and my brother. That's who we've always been so that's my motivation."
