Daily Cover: The WNBA Goes Toe-to-Toe With U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler
How the WNBA is combating Atlanta Dream Co-Owner and Senator Kelly Loeffler's newest bill that will ban Trans girls and women from playing publicly funded sports.
After clashing with WNBA players over their support for Black Lives Matter, Atlanta Dream co-owner and U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler is making waves yet again. Loeffler introduced a bill that would effectively ban trans girls and women from playing publicly funded sports. Loeffler made an attempt earlier this year to separate politics and the WNBA, but now she’s creating a bill that is controlling who can or cannot play women’s sports. Something that if passed would affect thousands of youth, high school, and collegiate athletes nationwide. So how are the women in the WNBA responding to this?
Sports Illustrated host Kaitlin O’Toole is joined by SI’s Copy Chief Julie Kliegman for insight.
