Look: 7 Exclusive SI Swimsuit Issue Photos of LSU Star Angel Reese
Whether you know her as LSU’s star forward or her persona as the Bayou Barbie, you’ve certainly heard of Angel Reese by now. The college basketball star helped lead the Tigers to the school’s first-ever NCAA women’s basketball national championship last month. The 21-year-old Baltimore native transferred to LSU after two seasons at Maryland, and next week, she makes her debut in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.
Reese posed for photographer Yu Tsai in Los Angeles, and while she admits she initially felt a bit nervous on set, she warmed up quickly.
“I had on thong bathing suits, and I didn’t think I was going to be comfortable, but [everyone] made me feel really comfortable,” she told SI Swimsuit. “I work out a lot. I embrace my body and who I am and every mark on my body. I probably feel the sexiest in a bathing suit.”
Reese was an athletic and competitive child who participated in everything from volleyball to swimming to gymnastics and cheer before falling in love with basketball.
“I can always just go out there and release anything going on in my life,” she says of her sport. “When I go to the gym, everything else going on in my life just doesn’t matter. I’m out there having fun, releasing all my feelings, going hard, working hard and just loving the game.”
