University of Miami guard Haley Cavinder, who previously announced her retirement from basketball, has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

Cavinder has one year of college eligibility remaining. Her entrance into the transfer portal is “exploratory,” according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, and staying at Miami is on the table. Cavinder is not expected to play this season but could play during the 2024-25 campaign.

Cavinder averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season at Miami, helping the Hurricanes reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament alongside twin sister Hanna. The Cavinder twins previously played three seasons together at Fresno State.

Following the end of last season, the twins announced their retirement from basketball to seek other opportunities. A career in professional wrestling has been rumored for the twins, but nothing has materialized yet.

It remains to be seen whether or not Haley will continue her basketball career, and where it might be, Hanna is expected to remain retired.
