LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese posted a fiery message of support for her teammates following Thursday night’s 76–70 loss to No. 1 South Carolina.

“I’m a DAWG. Respect me. This game was on me but I’m rocking with my girls day in & day out! GEAUX TIGERS!” Reese posted on social media.

Reese didn’t play particularly poorly in the loss. She finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists. But as leaders tend to do, they take blame in moments of defeat to help lift the burden off of their teammates.

The loss dropped the No. 9 Tigers to 18–3 on the season and 5–2 in SEC play. As for South Carolina, the Gamecocks improved to 18–0 and 6–0 in league play. Through the first three months of the basketball season, Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks look like a team poised to make a run at a third national championship since 2016.
