AEW News: Major Health Update on Popular AEW Star & Former World Champion
A health update for one massive AEW star has been reported.
Recently, AEW signed three key free agents, and it comes at a time where one of the company's top performers is out of action. The highly-regarded talented in question isn't sidelined due to an injury, rather a serious health issue.

Now, a new report has surfaced revealing what the current status is of former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.
Dave Meltzer has taken to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter to report that Omega will likely undergo surgery due to his diverticulitis. The report notes that no decision has been made, but two doctors have recommended surgery on the AEW star's intestines. The report mentioned that Omega will likely need to have parts of his intestines and colon removed to get back in wrestling shape.
It's been said that Omega's condition was life threatening before he was able to receive treatment. While his in-ring future isn't a lock, he'll be due for a massive program on AEW TV if he can eventually make his way back to the ring. AEW has already opened up the possibility of Omega reliving his legendary NJPW feud with Kazuchika Okada, who is the current Continental Champion.
During the March 6th episode of AEW Dynamite, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson kicked Omega out of The Elite in favor of Okada. This clearly planted the seeds for Omega vs. Okada down the road, but wrestling fans will have to wait for "The Best Bout Machine" to return to full health before that match can happen.
