Rhea Ripley has been forced to relinquish her WWE Women's World Championship.

Before Monday Night Raw aired, PWInsider reported that Ripley suffered an injury during last week's episode of the red brand. F4W's Bryan Alvarez later followed up confirming that Ripley suffered a shoulder injury during her brawl backstage with Liv Morgan. It was also said that the chair shot from Liv did NOT cause the injury.

Rhea opened up the April 15th episode of WWE Raw and announced she will be on the shelf for quite a while. She also revealed she has to vacate the Women's World Championship. She admitted it's painful for her to have to end her reign prematurely. Ripley said when she makes her return she's coming back for blood.

Ripley captured the gold at WrestleMania 39 back in April 2023. She defeated Charlotte Flair in a WrestleMania classic. She was coming off a barn burner with Becky Lynch in the first match at WrestleMania 40. Ripley made the final successful title defense in her recent reign with the crowd in the palm of her hand at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.
