The Rock has heaped some major praise on one popular WWE superstar's efforts throughout WrestleMania 40 weekend.

WrestleMania 40 had been billed by WWE as the biggest WrestleMania of all time. The numbers certainly don't lie, as the two-night event broke records for WrestleMania. The event was a huge success and you can certainly thank a slew of factors such as The Rock's in-ring return, The Bloodline, Cody Rhodes' story, and much more.

"The Great One" recently took the time to thank one unsung hero of the entire WrestleMania weekend.

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW PREVIEW: FORMER WORLD CHAMPION RETURNS, CODY RHODES APPEARS

In a video posted on his Instagram, The Rock named former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins as the true MVP of WrestleMania 40 Saturday and Sunday.

"Congratulations to who I feel is the real MVP of the entire WrestleMania weekend, Seth 'Freaking' Rollins," The Rock said. "What an honor it was to share the ring with you three, what an honor it was for us to break records, and now my sights are set on the next WrestleMania."

Rollins went 0-2 during WrestleMania weekend. While some feel Rollins was made to look the weakest out of the four WrestleMania Saturday headliners, especially since he didn't land a single strike during his run-in the following night, he actually played a pivotal role in the conclusion of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

Rollins donned The Shield gear and ultimately was the reason Roman took his eyes off Cody in a rare lapse of judgment from "The Tribal Chief." Rather than strike Cody with a chair to retain his title, Roman ended up hitting Seth's back with the chair in a callback to Rollins turning on The Shield back in 2014.

This allowed Cody to counter Roman's Spear attempt before hitting three Cross Rhodes finishers to score the pin on Reigns and become the new WWE Champion.
