The first episode of WWE Raw following WrestleMania 40 will commence tonight.

Fans are buzzing over what transpired during WWE's biggest event of the year. Cody Rhodes dethroned Roman Reigns to capture the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship despite having his back against the wall due to Bloodline Rules. Rhodes had some help from Jey Uso, John Cena, Seth Rollins, and The Undertaker before he hit a triple Cross Rhodes on Reigns to win a WWE world title for the first time in his pro wrestling career.

What will "The American Nightmare" have to say one night after realizing his dream?

We will also hear from the new World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. The Judgment Day member successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre, who had defeated Seth Rollins to capture the gold. Drew taunted CM Punk, who was a special guest commentator, following the match. Punk responded by tripping Drew's legs before nailing him with his arm brace. T
his allowed Priest to cash in, and he pinned McIntyre with South of Heaven.

Speaking of The Judgment Day, Rhea Ripley successfully defended the Women's World Championship in the first match of WrestleMania 40 against Becky Lynch. What's next for "The Eradicator?"

Plus, there is no longer undisputed gold in WWE's tag team division. The Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships have been split once again. During the WrestleMania Saturday Six-Pack Ladder Match, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller snagged the SmackDown hardware, while The Miz and R-Truth are the new tag team titleholders of Monday Night Raw. WWE Raw Results (April 8, 2024)

Paul "Triple H" Levesque got the post-WrestleMania 40 episode of Monday Night Raw started. He thanked fans for the success of WrestleMania 40. Levesque it's a new era, and he introduced the man who will lead this era, and he is the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes.

Levesque had a surprise video package for Cody. The video recapped Cody's journey from undesirable to undeniable, including his time outside WWE. The package ended with a picture of Dusty Rhodes holding up the WWE Championship before transition to Cody holding that same title.

Rhodes asked Samantha Irvin to introduce him as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion one more time. Cody admitted he acknowledges Reigns' historic title run. "Thank you, Roman" chants broke out, but Cody said he was the man destine to defeat him.

Rhodes said he fights for his daughter, and he wants his daughter to see him at the top of the mountain.

The Rock made his way out and was greeted to chants of "Undertaker" after he was Chokeslammed at WrestleMania Sunday. "The Great One" then received chants of "Rocky Sucks." He even got chants of "Shut the f*** up." Fans in Philly are really letting The Rock have it, calling him an "Asshole."

The Rock claimed he was giving Cody his flowers. He then called Philly trailer park trash. The Rock threw it right back at the crowd, telling them to "shut the f*** up." The Rock admitted Cody finished his story. With that said, Rock told "The American Nightmare" he's never held the title on Cody's shoulder.

Cody said they can exchange holding each other's titles. The Rock then put Cody's title on his shoulder and said it feels right. He thanked Cody and handed the belt back to him. The Rock said he has to go away for a little while. The crowd sang goodbye to The Rock.

The Rock said whether Cody remains champion or not, he'll come back for him. Rhodes said he's looking forward to it. The Rock reminded Cody that he pinned him the night before WrestleMania Sunday. He said their story has just begun. Cody said The Rock may be his boss, but he's The Rock's champion. The Rock admitted Cody is his champion, but he wants to give something and told Cody to never break his heart again.

The Judgment Day was shown arriving to the arena, as well as Awesome Truth and Sami Zayn.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ilja Dragunov

Nakamura struck first, but Dragunov landed a knee drop from the turnbuckle followed by two German suplexes. Dragunov landed the H-Bomb followed by Torpedo Moscow for the win.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov

Drew McIntyre was shown entering tthe arena in a foul mood. Newly-minted World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and the rest of The Judgment Day will make their way out after the break.

Finn Balor was out with JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. He called out all the doubters of Priest. Dom then grabbed the mic and was booed as loudly as you'd expect. He introduced the Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley.

Ripley said that while The Judgment Day's WrestleMania 40 wasn't perfect, Mami's always on top and Damian Priest has ushered in a new era for The Judgment Day. Balor then introduced Priest. Priest was celebrating his win, but R-Truth popped up to join the party and still thinks he's in The Judgment Day.

The Miz made his way out and said Truth doesn't want to be a member. Balor challenged Awesome Truth to a tag team title match. Truth suggested a six-man tag team match. Truth said he and The Miz will team with someone "you can't see." Before Truth could reveal the partner, he and Miz were attacked by The Judgment Day.

Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, & Dominik Mysterio vs. Awesome Truth

JD took control of Truth. Dom missed a splash on Truth. Miz hit a springboard crossbody on Dom. Miz hit a double DDT on Dom and JD. The numbers game was catching up to Miz. John Cena actually appeared and he cleaned house.

Cena and Awesome Truth all hit Five Knuckle Shuffles and AAs for the win.

Winners: John Cena & Awesome Truth

Bronson Reed guaranteed victory in tonight's fatal four-way number one contender match for the World Heavyweight Championship, which will also feature McIntyre, Jey Uso, and Ricochet.

Backstage, Dom told Rhea he was going to look for Priest. Liv Morgan then attacked Rhea with a chair.

Roxanne Perez vs. Indi Hartwell

Perez slapped Indi Hartwell to start. Candice LeRae yanked Perez's leg when the referee wasn't looking. Pop Rocks landed for Perez and this one was over.

Winner: Roxanne Perez

Newly-minted Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn met with Jey Uso backstage. They dapped each other up ... Yeet!

Perez was backstage and she ran into Natalya.

Sami Zayn made his entrance. Sami received "you deserve it" chants for his IC title win over GUNTHER at WrestleMania. Zayn called GUNTHER the best IC champion of all time, but he beat him. Zayn thanked the fans, his wife, his son, Kevin Owens, and he was going to thank Chad Gable before Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci made their way out.

Kaiser said Zayn looks like a bum. He and Vinci were ready to attack Zayn before Gable ran down the ramp. We've got ourselves a tag team match.

A promo video for Sheamus aired, and fans inside the Wells Fargo Center were quite happy to see it.

Sami Zayn & Chad Gable vs. Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci

Gable dove on Kaiser and Vinci on the outside. Kaiser was able to get the upper hand on Sami inside the ring. Vinci was tagged in, and he knocked Gable off the ring apron.

Zayn hit Blue Thunder Bomb on Kaiser before tagging Gable in. Chad hit a neckbreaker on Vinci, and then an exploder suplex on Kaiser. Gable and Zayn landed stero German Suplexes.

Sami tagged in Gable before hitting the Helluva Kick. Gable hit the deadlift German Suplex on Giovanni Vinci for the win.

Winners: Sami Zayn & Chad Gable

Backstage, Jey Uso said he's giving everyone a Yeetdown during the number one contender match later tonight. Andrade was shown with Ava from NXT, Nick Aldis, and Adam Pearce. Chelsea Green complained about not being a part of WrestleMania. Chelsea will get a chance to build momentum tonight with an opponent yet to be named.

Jade Cargill vs. Chelsea Green

Jade landed a pump kick followed by Jaded for the quick win.

Winner: Jade Cargill

Zayn met with Chad Gable and said he wants to do Gable a favor by giving him an IC title shot. The two shook hands.

Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso vs. Ricochet vs. Bronson Reed - Number One Contender Match For World Heavyweight Championship

Before the match began, McIntyre said what happened at WrestleMania 40 Sunday was BS. He said he and Seth Rollins shared a moment only true warriors know about. He said the Money in the Bank briefcase is a joke. He then called CM Punk a "prick."

Ricochet took out all of his opponents on the outside with a Swanton Bomb. He pulled out a table and slid it in the ring. Reed slammed Jey through a table in the corner. Ricochet hit a springboard dropkick on Reed but ran into a Ura nage.

McIntyre and Reed traded chops. Drew slammed Reed down and went for a pin, but Jey broke it up. Richocet, Jey, and Reed teamed up to super kick Drew. Jey and Ricochet then superkicked Reed. Jey hit a Spear on Reed after kicking Ricochet, and everyone is down.

Reed cleared the announce table. McIntyre threw him into the post and headbutted him. Reed was laying on the announce table. Ricochet hit a springboard 450 onto Reed on the announce table.

Drew went for Claymore on Jey, but CM Punk pulled his leg. This allowed Jey to Spear McIntyre and hit the Splash for the win.

Winner: Jey Uso
