New reports have surfaced on the reasoning behind recent roster cuts within WWE.

Business is booming for WWE, but that doesn't mean on-air talent have been exempt from being let go of their contracts. Cuts are an unfortunate reality in any industry and wrestling is no exception. The latest round of WWE roster removals haven't come as much of a surprise to fans, however.

Recent talent releases include former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Xia Li, Veer, Sanga, Xyon Quinn, and Von Wagner.

Fightful reports that the latest round of superstar cuts boils down to the company believing that the trajectory of this crop of performers wasn't at the level it should've been given their experience. Dave Meltzer also noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Von Wagner and Xyon Quinn were viewed as main roster stars and had been released given they weren't being used for Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown.

During the Vince McMahon regime, reports had surfaced claiming WWE had high expectations of Von Wagner. Things just never truly got off the ground for the son of former WWE and WCW wrestler Wayne Bloom

We'll keep you posted if there's any more WWE talent releases in the near future, but obviously, the hope is that this is the last round for quite some time.
