WWE Rumors: Major Event Reportedly Changing Dates & Being Moved to UFC Venue
If a recent report is to be believed, then one WWE event is undergoing a significant change.
Ever since WWE and the UFC were merged into TKO Group Holdings, the two companies have seen some light crossover, and it looks like that relationship will come into play for one event just before summer. While WWE is used to holding events in sold out arenas and massive stadiums, its developmental brand usually enjoys a more intimate setting.
It appears that trend will continue for one planned premium live event, and the UFC could be involved.
WrestleVotes is reporting that WWE NXT's Battleground event, which had been planned for May 26th in Savanna, GA, is being moved to June 9th. The report also notes that the show will now take place inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is a drastic change from the Enmarket Arena, which can hold nearly 10,000 fans.

While a flagship WWE show isn't likely to ever be held inside the intimate confines of the UFC Apex, the venue does make more sense for NXT. The black and gold brand usually runs TV shows inside the WWE Performance Center, but its special PLE events are typically held inside an arena. This would obviously be quite the change of pace in that regard.
WWE NXT's next PLE will be its biggest of the year. Stand & Deliver will be held inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. It is a part of WWE's official WrestleMania weekend schedule. That show will take place on the same day as WrestleMania night one on April 6th.
MMA Knockout will be on the scene in Philly for WrestleMania 40 weekend.
