Returning WWE Superstar Reportedly Considered Shocking Retirement Due to Injury
One key member of the WWE roster reportedly considered hanging up his boots.
Fans of WWE NXT recently witnessed the return of former North American Champion Wes Lee. The Dayton, Ohio native appeared on the April 30th episode of NXT to confront the current North American Champion Oba Femi. Oba had defeated Monday Night Raw superstar Ivar in a successful title defense before Lee showed up.
It's a moment that was nearly robbed from Wes Lee and WWE fans.

Fightful's Corey Brennan reports that Lee is now cleared for in-ring action after it was initially believed he may be shelved for over a year due to an injury. It was even noted that retirement was a possibility for the 29-year-old.
Luckily for Wes Lee, he is back and ready to challenge for the championship he held for 269 days. Lee holds the record for the longest NXT North American Championship reign in the title's history. While Wes plans on getting the gold back, he isn't the only one targeting Oba Femi. Ivar has made it clear that he isn't done with Oba, and Josh Briggs intends to take another crack at the title.
Lee will return to action on the May 7th episode of WWE NXT. He will go one-on-one with Briggs. Time will tell if Lee is successful in his return to the ring, and if he can eventually reclaim the North American hardware.
