Dismissed Louisville point guard Chris Jones allegedly threatened a female student in a text message, according to a University of Louisville police report, which was obtained by Insider Louisville in an open records request.

The report says that a woman who had been in an on-and-off relationship with him for the past year told police that she went to Jones' apartment around midnight on Feb. 17 and waited for him until 3 a.m., but he did not return. She stated that she left after "messing up" the room, and that at 2 p.m. the next day, Jones said in a text message that he would "smack TF [the f---] out of her."

Police said the woman did not want Jones prosecuted but for someone to "talk to him about his behavior."

Insider Louisville reports that the university said campus police "are conducting an investigation into a separate incident report," which was not released due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Louisville announced on Feb. 17 that Jones had been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules. He missed the Cardinals' loss to Syracuse last Wednesday before playing against Miami on Saturday. On Sunday, Jones was dismissed from the team

Jones, a senior, was averaging 13.6 points and a team-best 3.7 assists per game for the Cardinals.
